“Prove all things, hold fast that which is good.” (I Thes 5:21)

It is demonstrably acknowledged that Jesus, Yahshua the Messiah, was the wisdom of Yahweh (1Cor 1:24). It is also settled that He had an understanding of the Holy Scriptures that could not be compared with any other individual before or after Him. For modern theologians to presume that the Messiah could err in scriptural doctrine is a faulty assertion, one that has been promulgated, codified and believed in by almost all. Claiming that Yahshua Jesus had an eschewed knowledge on the actual nature of what many modern believers agree to be disembodied living human spirits, or disordered angels, is a great oversight in the theologian’s tradition-motivated diligence to substantiate radical demonology and literal demoniac possession. Because of misunderstandings regarding the Messiah’s culture and the Holy Scriptures, many have run head first into superstitious conclusions about doctrines concerned with demons, and this is due to the New Testaments simple and clear matter of fact-ness regarding demonism. A great problem that exists is that the superficial treatment of demons in the New Testament is, when read outside of and apart from its natural context, incorrectly understood in almost every one of its treatments on the matter. Meaning that in order for any to correctly understand what’s truthfully stated, a certain amount of work is required, and this work is the reader’s responsibility. In order for the Messiah to have believed in the existence of literal beings whom possessed the bodies of living people, He would have to have been receptive to pagan ruminations and their vain philosophies. Furthermore, for the Messiah to believe in literal demons He would have to have been acting in a way latently antagonistic towards the various and plainly stated truths discussed in the only scriptures He had as foundationally sure, those being they found in the Tanakh. If it were true that He did ignore the words in the Tanakh, this would have brought multifarious problems into His ministry, problems that scripturally could not exist if He was to remain the promised Messiah. With acknowledgement of this, it is our responsibility to re-align the actions and teachings of the One Holy Messiah with the truths found in His Tanakh, and then understand the sure road of explanation for why Yahshua would seem to both teach and substantiate the existence of disembodied spirits who afflict, disease and possess the living in a Gentle influenced Israel, while the Scriptures He lived upon clearly stated exactly the opposite.

The Messiah was a law giver. It could be argued that He was also the very Word that spoke to the Prophets. In the flesh He was demonstrated to be the wisdom of Yahweh Himself. To suggest that the Messiah had erred in one of the most fundamental and clearly defined Old Testament doctrines (regarding posthumous spiritual existence before the judgment), would be first on behalf of the educated a gross oversight, and secondly, a reading into, or more properly stated eisegesis of the scriptures. By inspiration, the Messiah told Paul that men were appointed once to die than after this the judgment (Heb 9:27), and the Spirit of Holiness also told Solomon that when men died they could no longer think or act (Ecc 9:10), yet the superstitious Hellenized Pharisee would have all people believe that after death those who passed away in an angry state of mind could spiritually leave their graves and seek new lodgings in the abodes of the sinful or somehow susceptible persons. Teachings on the spirits of the dead have not come from 1st Samuel verse 28, nor had it come from the Messiahs parable about Lazerous and the rich man, which I mention arose much later than the belief of the spiritual life of evil spirits, but was one attained from historical heathendom, either Greek, Roman, Babylonian, Indian or Persian; this idea came fully prepared with a complete demonology as well. Such beliefs were so well feared by the people of the first century, that the apostles on no less than two occasions believed Jesus to be a wayward spirit, and this was after they had been educated by Him during His ministry. The notion of demonic possession was a superstition that was very firmly rooted in the cultural consciousness of their time – as it remains so concreted everywhere today.

For brevities sake here are the Old Testament scriptures that confirm the impossibility of posthumous thoughts and existence before the judgement.

Ecc 8:8 There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death

Ecc 9:6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.

Ecc 9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

Psa 6:5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?

Psa 146:3-4 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.

One of the first Old Testament examples of an individual expressing the belief in spiritual possession comes from the King of Babylon. This is fitting, seeing that spirit possession is an belief taken from Babylonian mysteries.

Dan 4:9 “O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof. (KJV)

The Aramaic source says the “Spirit of the Holy God” singular. This still promotes belief in the notion of spiritual possession.This scripture has many different translations, but all hold to the idea that a spirit inhabits the body of Daniel.

What Jesus actually taught about Demonic Possession

Many people believe that Jesus never corrected the unashamed errors contained in the beliefs of demonic possession existing all over the 1^st century world, but such conjecture is incomplete and because of its incompleteness absolutely erroneous. In actuality, Yahshua Jesus openly condemned the heathenized Pharisee belief that demons could ever enter the body and control one’s mind or will. The rebuke of this notion took place while He taught in Galilee which was a section of Israel that had been utterly steeped in demonic superstitions.

Evil spirits and hand washing: Jesus’ public rebuke against the belief of demonic possession.

The account of Jesus’ public rebuke of demonic possession is as such:

(Mar 7:1-3) “Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem. (2) And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault. (3) For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.”

The Judean Pharisees warned against eating with unwashed hands for various ritual reasons, each of these finding authority in post Tanakh texts (most finding allusion for authority from the Tanakh). One example of such a decree is found in the Talmud Bavli Hullin 106a-b.

The account continues:

(Mar 7:14-23) “14 And when [Yahshua] had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand: 15 There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man. 16 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. 17 And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable. 18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him; 19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats? 20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. 21 For from within, out of the [mind] of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.”

Explanation

A very important element of this public rebuke was that the Pharisees from Jerusalem did not in any way disagree with the Messiahs words about the affects of eating with unclean hands. Since the Pharisees from Jerusalem did not believe in demonic possession, Yahshua had used their beliefs as supports through their lack of denial, making them witnesses for what He now publicly taught the people as incorrect.

To elaborate on the reason for why Messiah said the words that He did, a book titled Demons and Jewish Magic highlights the significance of the purposes of hand washing, and why the Pharisees took it so seriously. “The connection between demons and uncleanness was made to serve important hygienic ends. Evil spirits, sometimes called "spirits of uncleanness," and once identified by the name bat melech, rest upon unwashed hands, contaminate foods handled with them, and endanger the lives of those who eat such food. Seven occasions which require a ritual washing of the hands (which destroys or dislodges the demons) were enumerated; most important among these was upon arising in the morning, for the night creates a special susceptibility to spirit contamination. Even on Yom Kippur when no ablutions might be performed, the hands must be washed in the morning. Touching the eyes, ears, nose and mouth with unwashed hands spells trouble; no doubt it was feared that the evil spirits would enter the body through these orifices. (… if, in speaking of infection, our vocabulary is more "scientific," the sense remains the same.) The demon of uncleanness, entering the eyes, could cause one’s glance to have a devastating effect upon the innocent passer-by; it might even be responsible for the loss of one’s memory, and ultimately complete loss of mind.” (p.33 Demons and disease Jewish magic)

It can be fairly presumed that the Pharisees from Jerusalem were more concerned with the breaking of tradition then the negative effects of catching a demon from eating food with unclean hands. This perspective will be emphasized further in following passages. I must highlight that when speaking to the Apostles in the house the Messiah focused on food, and how it could not contaminate, but in doing so He completely disregarded the existence of evil spirits and taught a valuable lesson that showed his followers that evil comes from the mind.

A side note and point of interest is how the evil spirits of hand washing could cause a person to develop the Evil eye[1]. In the above passage Jesus mentioned the evil eye, and it is clear that He surly did not believe in its existence, but he mentioned this superstition intentionally because He knew about the traditional teachings surrounding unclean hands and demonic possession which caused the evil eye. Through its mention, He wished to prove that the evil eye was nothing more than human envy if anything at all. I would also like to note that the evil spirits who entered the body as mention in the book on demons above, are by admission of the author equated with sicknesses caused by touching susceptible parts of the body with contaminated hands.

Not washing hands causes demonic possession continued:

“The custom of washing the hands after a funeral is very widespread … Efforts were made to find a Biblical precedent for this act, but … there was a general admission that it was done ‘to dispel the spirits of uncleanness’ which cling to one’s person, these being ‘the demons that follow them home.’” (page 179).

In the above scripture we notice that Yahshua Jesus told the people that they lacked understanding. Belief in demon possession to Yahshua was without question both folly and ignorance. By understanding that Jesus had corrected the erroneous beliefs about demonic infiltration and possession, we must further evaluate the attitudes regarding demonic possession held by the people in both Galilee and Judea.

Jesus educated the people in Galilee (Important):

Belief in demons in Galilee and Judea

“Based on his studies of the relevant Talmudic literature, Cambridge rabbinical scholar Herbert Loewe concluded that during the first century AD rabbis in Galilee and Mesopotamia generally believed in the literal existence of demons, while those in Judea did not. … Loewe next summarizes the results of his findings: "In investigating Talmudic evidence as to spirits, the reader will notice, at the outset, different attitudes adopted by the Rabbis in dealing with this question. In some cases the reality of demons seems to be taken for granted absolutely; in others it seems, with no less certainty, to be denied. Stories occur in which both these attitudes may be traced simultaneously. The reason for this may be found if the nationality of the respective teachers be sought. It has already been stated that Galilee was the centre of Palestinian demonology, and it will almost invariably be found that Galilaean teachers accepted, while Judaean teachers rejected, the existence of spirits. The numerous instances which the NT furnishes would have been impossible save in Galilee; there is a strong similarity between these and those adduced by Galilaean Rabbis. The same must be said of those Rabbis who came from Mesopotamia. And they were brought up in surroundings in which superstition was rife, their teaching was tinged by a belief in spirits, and in comparison with them the clarity of Palestinian teaching stands out in bold relief.‟ Loewe, “Demons and Spirits (Jewish),” Encyclopaedia of Religion and Ethics, ed. 4, James Hastings (Edinburgh, 1911), p. 612-13.

"This background information opens a window on demonic activity during the ministry of Christ. Belief in demons was taught and fostered in the north by the local rabbis; conversely, those in the south were encouraged by a sceptical outlook by the Judaean teachers. Since belief in demons was rampant in the north, many people attributed sickness to demons. Because demon belief was much less common in the south [the above-cited scholarly source implies that it was virtually nonexistent among Judaean rabbis], then the demons did not exist either." Demon possession was not Geographically uniform – evidence against the belief

“Demon-possession in the Gospel accounts is not a geographically-uniform phenomenon. Specific cases of demon-possession in the synoptics occur in regional clusters, always in northern environs such as Galilee, rather than occurring throughout every location through which Christ travelled and performed healings. Conversely, not a single case of demon-possession in Judea or Jerusalem is recorded by Matthew, Mark, Luke or John. Moreover, the Synoptics include several quantitative summaries of demon-possession that imply that demon-possession was a common and even characteristic phenomenon in Galilee and the northern regions. No comparable statements for Judean areas are found in the Gospel records. Finally, certain ostensibly physical pathological conditions, such as blindness, deafness and muteness, which are sometimes attributed to demon-possession in the north, are never so characterized in the south, even though descriptions of these conditions do occur in texts commenting on the Judean ministry.” (The Geographical Distribution pg.1)

Summery

It has been made clear that Yahshua Jesus did in fact correct the beliefs about demonic possession during His ministry. Through teaching that evil came from within out of a corrupt mindset agrees with many New Testament epistles (James 1:14-15 &c), and clearly states that nothing can enter into a man or women to defile them spiritually. This is to say that sin is the fruit of the human will. Yahshua clearly told all of the people who were present that demons were not able to enter into them and take possession of their minds and will, and that this notion is impossible (for even Yahweh Himself doesn’t do this, even Yahshua Jesus the embodiment of Yahweh had a free will). The fact that Jesus made reference to the evil eye shows that He was concerned with the numerous superstitions that currently ensnared the people. For Yahshua to command the people to understand shows that they as a whole held onto incorrect ideas that needed correcting. The fact that He rebuked His apostles shows that the practice of hand washing was not the chief focus of His reprove, but it was the belief in demonic possession (which the apostles (most coming from Galilee or surrounding area did also believe in)) that was the object of his scrutiny, nothing less. Since Jesus knew that the Judean Pharisees would not contradict His rebuke, He purposely taught this lesson in their presence using them as an aid. Jesus not only corrected the Pharisees flawed reasoning about hand washing obtained from the Talmud, but He also used their perspective on the demon doctrine to the advantage of the people. This topic of possession, and how Jesus treated it, is in absolute perfect agreement with the Tanakh; and it also shows that even though the Messiah used the term Demon at other times when speaking about those suffering from mental or otherwise un-diagnosable ailments, He not only understood the actual cause of their true diseases, but He used this popular term so the people of His time would understand, and relate with Him. Yahshua Jesus had in no way justified the existence of actual demons human or angelic nor demonic possession.

2. The following treatments will go through the history of the word demon, demoniac, and all other terms directly connected to demon possession, and will show how these terms were historically derived from outside of Israel. It will continue to show that when said terms were used in Israel they represented nothing more than names for people suffering from various difficult illnesses, or parable based mythical beings for stories.

The foundation of any sort and every kind of Satanism is: ignorance, superstition, disobedience, self-infatuation, diverse sorts of hatred and idolatry. The only power in any occult sign or symbol is its ability to make you to sin. All occult symbols from the beginning of humanity until today, have been nothing more then the imaginary empowering’s of lifeless squiggles created by the human imagination, depicting some sort of sinful or idolatrous thing, in one form or the next. Satanists and Luciferian’s are nothing more then the most ignorant of lascivious reprobates (who have a chance to live and be loved if they seek forgiveness and repentance by following Yahshua the Messiah). I title them as such because even normal lascivious unrepentant reprobates don’t sacrifice their lives or sometimes the lives of others to imaginary beings. Therefore, Do not fear devil worshippers, or their imaginary play things. Magic is ignorance.

1. THE IGNORANCE OF

666

What this number really means

Because people try to interpret the scriptures without first having a sound foundational understanding of the Bible, they are lead to believe in all kinds of lies that don’t make any Biblical sense. For instance, a whole mythology has been created around the number 666, this mythology has come from ignorant rock musicians, or even maybe theologians who haven’t correctly understand the book of revelations and its reference to said number.

Fact: 666 is not the number of a demonic force, nor is it the number of satan. This number alone has no magical powers, nor is it Biblically the representation of all things evil.

Fact: The number 666 is an allusion to Daniel chapter 3, and what Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had made his people do. This King commanded his people to worship his golden statue at pain of death. This act of worship was 666.

So Why 666?

“Here is wisdom: Let him who has understanding compute the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man and its number is six hundred and sixty six.” (HRV REV 16:18)

Okay, so if six hundred and sixty-six is the number of the beast, than who or what is the beast? According to the book of revelations, the beast is a monster that john saw “coming up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on its heads names of blasphemy.” (This beast is a Kingdom, and this kingdom is referred to as Babylon the great). John continues, “And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and its feet were like the feet of a bear, and its mouth was as a lion’s mouth. And the dragon gave its power to it, and its throne, and great authority.”

The dragon here discussed is not satan but Rome, and Rome is synonymous with the final beast seen in the dream of Daniel the prophet, the dragon is explained as: “terrifying and frightening and very powerful. It had large iron teeth; it crushed and devoured its victims and trampled underfoot whatever was left. It was different from all the former beasts, and it had ten horns.” – Or In other words was a dragon. This forth beast is well known to be the Roman empire and this is not attested by modern or late theologians.

The beast of revelations 13 is a world wide Governmental power, and Vatican Rome (who is the Dragon of Daniel chapter 4) will be part and parcel with this system. There is no mention of satan or a devil in this chapter of the book of Revelations, nor is the devil ever explicitly mentioned in Daniel (unless people assume it was him who fought of the angel sent to give a message, this cannot be at all properly determined beyond speculation). So, what is 666? Six hundred and sixty six is the number of a man, and that man is the King of Babylon (no other than Nebuchadnezzar of the book of Daniel). 666 alludes or points to him, and it speaks about how he forced all of his diverse citizens to worship his image. The beast system of revelations will be guilty of taking part in the same forceful perversions.

This is how the Bible explains it: “And all those dwelling in the earth will worship [the beast], those of whom the names had not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb … 14 And [the false prophet] deceives those dwelling on the earth … saying to those dwelling on the earth to make an image to the beast … and might cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.” (Rev 13) (bolding and underline mine)

This is the meaning of 666, it’s the story of Nebuchadnezzar’s golden statue all over again.

This is how the story of King Nebuchadnezzar’s demand for worship goes:

Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits [60 cubits], and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon. Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellers, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. Then … all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up. Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages, That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up: And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. Daniel 3:1-7

Six instruments or five?

In some bible versions, this section begins with five instruments and lastly a word about symphony, this word symphony is actually a mistranslation of the word tumpanon.

Evidence that six instruments are used is seen when the instruments involved are reiterated again later in the chaoter, as seen here:

“Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image:” (Daniel 3:10 same bible version)

Granted all of this information, in the future to come there will be a System that demands the worship of it’s “golden” image (be this image a man or something other) just like the King had desired in Daniel. This system will be helped by either a man, or another system called the false prophet (this prophet is described to be a beast with the two horns like a lamb but speaks as a dragon).  So the myth about 666 as being the devils number can be layed to rest. The Bible in no way endorses the beast to be satan, and 666 is a code that is only understood by those who read their Bible, or read this article

How such an error entered the mainstream

Satanist, and paedophile Alester Crowly found great pleasure in calling himself the beast, yet unbeknownst to him, the beast was not the devil at all. Because he assumed himself to be in a way the anti-Messiah, and because his mother called him the beast when he was young, he assumed 666 was the number that personified all things satanic – this is one show of every satanist’s ignorance and how they willingly believe lies. Sadly, the beast and the Anti-messiah or the one who is actually called the false prophet, are not at all one and the same thing or being, see Revelations 19:20. Crowley’s erroneous knowledge of the Bible lead him to associate the number of idolatry with what he thought was satan. Debunked!

Now satanists trying to show a pledge of allegiance by tattooing 666 on their bodies as a symbol of love for satan, are in fact only  glorifying their union with the beast system who in the book of revelations is destroyed, along with everyone else who receive the beats mark. By tattooing 666 on their bodies, these people are telling everyone that they find themselves worthless and worthy of destruction. 666 shows that these people are waiting for everlasting destruction through utter annihilation at the return of Yahshua Jesus! How sadly ignorant and ironic.

Conclusion

666 is not a pledge of allegiance to satan, nor is it his number.

Hello friend, fans and seekers of truth, I’m working on a very important article at the moment that clearly displays demonic possession (in the 1st century) to be not more then a superstitious way of understanding and explaining difficult illnesses (mostly mental). I am still working on the History of religion which is now over 50 pages in length, the topic became much larger and more intricate then I first thought, but is still slowly making inroads. I just wish to thank everyone for their e-mails and support. Truth is one of those things that is either grasped or lost. As long as a small majority of you adhere to the basic and sure teachings of Yahweh through His Word (Yahshua) you may be the ones who lead the future others through these difficult to find but very necessary truths (Yahweh will always lead us to His truth, He is our first teacher, all honour be to Him and Jesus the Messiah). Based on my last post about the non-superstitious understandings regarding Satan, I have been able to provide you with clear biblical evidences showing how the Devil and demons have been based on human fear, heathen concepts, and misunderstandings of the bible. The true Satan is our ability to sin (this being our sinful nature). Many diseases are caused as a result of this sin, (our ideas about demons come from our inability to understand certain disease (this misunderstanding is what the 1st century people called demon possession). Finally, the idea of an impersonal Satan has been shown to be adversarial peoples, governmental oppressors and faulty ideas. When we approach the debate of does or does not the Angelic Satan exist, we see that the rationalists understand and naturally agree with  what the renewed scriptural concept (which has always been correct) says. But the major differences between what the rationalists know and what the bible says can found in their lack of understanding of where evil comes from or what the source of sin is. Yahweh is Supreme, which means He brings both good and the evil righteously upon whomever when suitable. If pastors say they see supernatural things occurring during exorcisms, it can be said that even these sights have come from Yahweh in one form or another, for one purpose of another. Scripture shows that at times good angels are sent to be misguiding spirits (2 Chron 18:22). Watch these debates and see how the rationalists agree with scripture without even realizing it, thus showing how the true biblical Christianity is the pinnacle of reason and Virtue. Many Roman Catholics believe that Peter is the rock in which Jesus the Messiah alluded to in Matthew chapter 16:18. Based on looking into this issue from a different perspective, using the Aramaic Peshitta new testament opposed to the Greek, the capacity for this assertion to be true (that Peter is the rock of scriptural assuredly) has been made a non issue. In the Syrian Aramaic language this passage does not differentiate the name Peter (which is originally Kephas) with the second word used for rock in the same sentence. This occurs because in Aramaic the word Keepa or Kephas which means rock, has multiple meanings but only one word used. Because of this, it is near imposable to state that Peter means anything more then rock (more akin to a stone), and based on further biblical and contextual evidence Keepa as his personal name, is shown to be equal to nothing more then the word lithos in Greek, or Petra which is equivalent to stone in English. (Though Petra and Petros are contentious words said not to be used in the first century of Yahshua).

This final scripture is the one of Mat 16. See that all 4 times Keepa is used to mean different sizes of rock.

Since the Peshitta is the source text for the Sinaticus and the other ‘Old Syriac’ text, the above shows that the word rock can be taken in a multitude of ways. To be sure of the meaning of Petros/Chephas/Keepa/Peter in the coming scripture is difficult without a clear understanding of the rest of the Old testament.  [We see that the same word is used for rock in all 4 scriptures, these all come from the book of Matthew].

Mat 16:13-18 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? (14) And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. (15) He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? (16) And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. (17) And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. (18) And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

We must realize that the revelation of Jesus being the Son of the most high Yahweh was not a new revelation, for in chapter 14 of the same epistle of Matthew just after Jesus walked on the sea, the Apostles admitted that “Of a truth thou art the Son of God.” (Mat 14:33) With this acknowledged, when Peter said the same thing out loud he wasn’t revealing some new revelation. What peter did was combine Yahshua’s Sonship with the fact that he was the promised Messiah “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God” (kjv).

The Hebraism

In order to understand the full meaning of this passage we must look at what the name Simon means. In the Hebrew Simon means “hearing”.

The fact that Peter was a sir name and was not his proper name as we even see by his second Epistle beginning with Simon Peter…, the use of the full name Simon Barjon, or hearing son of Jona is used with a specific intent. Let’s look at this scripture with its intended language:

Blessed art thou, hearing son of jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

So the fact that his name means hearing is evidence that God the Father spoke to him and revealed such truth to his understanding. Jesus the Messiah then continues His Hebraism:

(18) And I say also unto thee, that thou art rock, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

This is a play on names, and each name has a purpose in regards to the revelation or knowledge of the Messiah being the Son of God. Let’s look at the parts:

1. Simon means hearing

2. Peter means stone, or rock or boulder and he was the one who heard the Father reveal the Messiahs full identity. Like Peters name, this revelation being the Rock but of a different kind then what Peter stands for was the foundation of all faith and even the church itself.

Further explanation: “Blessed art thou, hearing … for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee …

And I say also unto thee, That thou are stone (cephas), and upon this rock (cephas) I will build my church.

The Hebraism or play on words is that Simon is the same word as hearing and yet was a name explanatory of his reception of said revelation, and Cephas or stone was the same word as rock yet was a name explanatory of his reception of the revelation of Jesus as the Messiah who was the foundational rock of the new testament. If Cephas/peter was to be translated rock and Jesus said upon this rock I will build my church, then the entire pun would have no secondary meaning, thus destroying its structure and intent. This would also be confusing to the hearers for the church was built only upon Jesus the Messiahs death and the Fathers power, for he was rooted in God the Father, and is known in the old testament to all the Apostles as the Rock and foundation of all things (especially the church).

The fact that Jesus the Messiah said “and I say” shows that both the revelation from the Father and the declaration of Peter receiving the rock were a related theme that could not be misconstrued. Quite simply God the Father said to Peter: Jesus is the Messiah the Son of the Living God, and Jesus who is also God said “Upon this rock [alluding to the fathers words], stone or Peter I will build my church”. It was a double affirmative that Jesus was who He said He was, it was also a declaration of his Yahshua’s Godhood.”

There is much evidence towards the alteration of the 4th commandment. Many preachers of Yahweh the Most high, Creator of Heaven and Earth, seem to focus on certain pieces of this puzzle, shining their lights in one location at a time. With many men from different countries all fighting the same unified fight, we are now granted another who was actually Jesuit educated but spend his life dedicated to revealing the truth about the Sabbath.

Modern Art: Its Occult Beginnings

If we look at history, we see that Art itself has been the true god of the Yahweh-less man. Statues of Idols “the works of human hands” are the things that were venerated and worshipped as deities. Men naturally applied their imaginations to these works and attributed spiritual powers to them (even though said powers were fictional). Continuing from our teaching about the renaissance, when Paganism once again invaded Europe, it was the ancient form and styles of art which engaged the minds on mass moving them towards rebellion against scriptural righteousness and ethical living.  We now must fast forward to the more modern era. We shall see that the effects of the renaissance have never completely faded. There were many religious reformations of different degrees and sorts that took place after the renaissance and the 1900’s but the cankering disease of freedom from all moral rule was now a staple in the mind of everyone. Artists who in a form were rebels against the old standard began deconstructing even the pagonic classical forms, and set out to create something radically new. In their search to define their new arts, they turned to occultism and gained strength through its philosophies. In this article we will discuss how modern art embraced Anti-Messianic ideals writ large to come to the place it is today, and we will also see how occultism / paganism is one to one with the modern dysfunctional forms we take as normal today.

KUPKA Frantisek

"Czech painter and graphic artist, born in 1871 at Dobruska, Bohemia, died in 1957. Kupka studied at the School of Fine Arts in Prague. To support himself, he gave lessons in religion and worked as a medium at spiritual séances. He was immersed in the thought of the French eighteenth century, and so was overwhelmed by an exhibition of the Impressionists in a Prague gallery. In 1991 he studied in Vienna and, in 1895, in Paris, where he has lived ever since. He studied from Nature and greatly admired Rodin and Toulouse-Lautrec. He undertook some important illustrative work: Lysistrata, Prometheus of Aeschylus and Les Erinnyes of Leconte de Lisle. He learnt Hebrew when commissioned by Élie Faure to make drawings for a new translation of the Song of Songs. His studio had the calm atmosphere of a religious workshop. From 1906 on his painting changed profoundly; his technical development served in imagination which saw beyond appearances. He claimed his paintings illustrated ideas in science, physics, astronomy, and biology, in all of which he was widely read. He was also knowledgeable about world religions and was particularly interested in the modern esoteric religion Theosophy, which tried to reconcile spiritualism with science. Two other pioneers, Frantisek Kupka, a Czech, and Kasimir Malevitch, a Russian who in 1914 and 1915 exhibited a series of squares on plain backgrounds, were also avid readers of theosophy and other metaphysical works. Kupka studied Greek, German and Oriental philosophy, along with a variety of theosophical texts. Douglas writes that the aesthetics of Malevich and his circle "resulted from a unified world view that encompassed all dichotomies; for them science and Eastern mystical ideas were seamlessly joined in a conceptual continuum, and knowledge of the world might be obtained by beginning at any point." In the period that saw the genesis of abstract art—roughly the decade beginning in 1910—what is particularly striking about the outlook of the artists primarily responsible for creating abstraction is their espousal of occult doctrine. So prevalent was a steadfast belief in the occult among the pioneers of abstract art—not only Mondrian but also Kandinsky, Malevich, and a good many of their disciples— that we have no alternative but to regard such doctrine as a basic component of their artistic vision.

But meanwhile, in the spiritually imperfect present, an art that aspired to make itself the instrument of pure spirit—to align itself with what Kandinsky described in "On the Spiritual in Art" as the struggle toward the non-naturalistic, the abstract, toward inner nature—had no alternative but to make its case as an earthly cultural enterprise. … It was for this reason that even the most mystical of the pioneer creators of abstract art found themselves engaged in a dialectic that embraced two very different aspirations—on the one hand, that of advanced artistic thought, with its headlong drive to discover new modalities of pictorial expression, and, on the other, that of a spiritual ideal that looked upon art as a means to an end that transcended art itself.

 

The occult symbolism is clearly defined in this modernist work. This work employs almost every technique termed a modernist style.

But the truth is that in every realm of high endeavour in which we find mysticism serving as a spur and an ideal—in movements of political revolution and campaigns for sexual emancipation, for example, no less than in avant-garde art movements—this loyalty to occult doctrine has proven to be a powerful incentive to practical achievement. Within the imaginative faculties there is nothing that so stirs the will to accomplish extraordinary things as the conviction that one is possessed of absolute knowledge about the ultimate destiny of human affairs. This was precisely the kind of mystical conviction that the pioneer creators of abstraction brought not only to their own innovations as artists but to the formation of avant-garde movements that changed the direction of modernist art and greatly expanded the place it would come to occupy in modern cultural life.

It is this belief in the absolute that accounts for the speed as well as the confidence which the pioneers of abstraction brought to their break with what they saw as the last vestiges of representation in art, and for the success they achieved in winning converts to their radical view of artistic expression. These artist-acolytes of the occult really did believe they were fulfilling a unique spiritual mission in this fateful act of artistic innovation, and they persuaded a great many others to join them in that belief. Theirs was, in this sense, a religious movement as well as an artistic one, and they brought to it the kind of intensely felt faith that we associate with spiritual yearning and religious conversion.

In the latest developments of the art of their time, which in the case of Cubism had already brought painting to the very verge of abandoning representation, they shrewdly discerned a “logic” that cried out for completion. This gave to abstraction a powerful sense of purpose—a kind of ontological imperative—that was all the more compelling when combined with the promise of a spiritual vocation. As artists, the pioneers of abstraction had largely mastered in their earlier paintings the rapid succession of styles that had moved from Realism and Impressionism to the Post-Impressionist, Fauvist, Expressionist, and Cubist art which dominated the European avant-garde in the last decade of the nineteenth century and the first decade of the twentieth.

The doctrinaire abstraction that was rooted in theosophical ideas was therefore seen to constitute, in the early years of its development, a counter-avant-garde opposed to the mainstream artistic interests of the School of Paris. It was, as far as Paris was concerned, virtually an underground movement that did not enjoy the critical acclaim, or even the kind of critical scandal, that had marked the emergence of Fauvism and Cubism before the First World War and would again mark the emergence of Dada and Surrealism in the years following the war.

“Plastic Mathematics is a "positive mysticism" in which "we translate reality into constructions controlled by our reason, later to recover these constructions in nature, thus penetrating matter with plastic vision".  Schpenmaeker believed that the new plastic expression (Neoplasticism), born of light and sound, would create a heaven on earth.”

What is remarkable about ‘The New Plastic in Painting’ is not only its triumphal affirmation of pure abstraction as an aesthetic “absolute”—a word that was repeatedly sounded throughout the manifesto—but the anxious attention that is lavished on the need to emancipate painting from the thralldom of what is variously called ‘nature’s appearance,’ ‘naturalistic representation,’ ‘naturalistic form,’’naturalistic color,’ and so on. Nature haunts the pages of ‘The New Plastic in Painting’ like a spectre that can be neither exorcised nor appeased. It can only be resisted by an act of transcendent artistic conscience that makes the pursuit of the ‘universal’ a quest so absolute that all the contingencies of nature are stripped of their importance.

Conclusion

What Mondrian purposed to do was strip creation of its realness, and for that substitute a fakeness. The purpose in doing such was to create a new aesthetic reality wholly made in the image of man, and entirely new. In the process of wanting such a radical change, he came up with his own philosophy called Neoplasticism, and from this philosophy we get our modern vector art. Problem is that this new art form, although mimicking reality, is not. And this fake reality makes children equate visual representations with the real thing. The sort of problems this produces is not fully ascertained, but he felt as though it would change human kind in a radical form, and thus we see his artistic effects implemented in children’s cartoons. Everything here is rooted in Theosophy and the occult.

The DADA Movement

   

We see that modern art, with its abstractions and deconstructions of reality, are highly influenced by the occult ideas of men gaining all knowledge and art as a form of ascension from this realm to one greater. If we have a generation who hungers to mimic artists who’ve used occult means in order to express new forms of creativity, it is only rational to see that our endeavours and appreciations of orderly conduct are going backwards instead of forwards. The problem with abstract art is that it makes something that it ugly, disordered, and bizarre, to seem as though it’s beautiful, charming and acceptable. This is how evil transmutes itself into goodness.

There was once a time in both American and Canada when strangely colourer hair was highly disapproved. But with an influx of new styles, and the blurring of moral standards, we can find our politicians with pink streaks in their hair. Why is this important? Such things are meaningful to observe because they represent how society is descending into the depth of anarchy, and accepting thinds they once abhorred due to their unnaturalness and blatant rebellion.

 

Punk first emerged in the mid 1970s in London as an anarchist and aggressive movement.  About 200 young people defined themselves as part of an anti-fashion urban youth street cultural movement.  Closely aligned was a music movement that took the name punk…The clothes suited the lifestyle of those with limited cash due to unemployment and the general low income school leavers…Punks cut up old clothes from charity and thrift shops, destroyed the fabric and refashioned outfits in a manner then thought a crude construction technique, making garments designed to attract attention… in the 1970s it shocked many people, because it had never been seen before.

 

Body piercing was done in parts other than the usually accepted placement of the ear lobe. The placement of studs and pins in face, body parts such as eyebrows and cheeks, noses or lips, for the masses was then quite unusual even after the freedom of the 1960s.

Here we see punk influence in the media. In fact, such an influence is just more conditioning. Dysfunction is fed, but by the tea spoon.

Tattoo enthusiast and historian, Steve Gilbert, in his popular, Tattoo History: A Source Book, cites some of the historical facts Hambly [a tattoo historian] found in his extensive research.

[Hambly] "retailed a wealth of examples which he had culled from field work by anthropologists in many parts of the world. Tattooing was supposed to: prevent pain; protect against gunshot wounds; cur illness; confer superhuman strength; preserve youth; enhance the supernatural powers of a shaman; ensure the survival of the soul after death; identify the soul in the hereafter; attract good luck; protect against witchcraft; ensure the protection of a deity; confer occult powers; prevent drowning; exorcise demons; ensure the protection of a totemic animal or spiritual guardian; record a pilgrimage to a holy place, etc. . .

"Tattooing is often a magical rite in the more traditional cultures, and the tattooist is respected as a priest or shaman."

"The actual tattooing process, which involved complex ritual and taboos, could only be done by priests and was associated with beliefs which were secrets known only to members of the priestly caste. . . Tattooing is a return to mans pagonic histories, it is a complete circle. The issue with such an “art form” is that it desecrates something that Yahweh made perfect. We are given clothing to adorn ourselves, so things such as ink under the skin shouldn’t be required, especially when Yahweh told us not to do it. This prohibition was meant to separate the Israelites from the pagan tribes, today not having a tattoo symbolises a certain purity. Since Tattoos are rife in popularity, those without them stand apart as almost odd. Christians should stand up for the beauty of original form.

In 1971 these sinful jeans hit the market. Created by two Italian men who used the scripture to promote licentiousness, these designers were only mimicking their forefathers found in the humanism of the Renaissance.

What we adorn ourselves in represents what we cherish. Many brands become idols in the sight of Yahweh because they are representative signs of pagan gods and goddesses. We must be aware of these symbols, with placing them on our bodies we propagate their messages through our wearing them. The coming revelations will leave you shocked or angered. These vehicles are the sorts that ethical Yahweh loving followers of Messiah should not hunger to own. If you do own one, like I once did, you will quickly realize that the negative attention it brings is not pure. You will see why and how they become idols in your life. These vehicles are idols through and through, and yes they are coveted by the world for a reason.

The triskelion is a symbol formed by three of almost anything conjoined and radiating from the center—triangles, commas, lines, circles, tear or water drops, trombone slides, arms, or legs. Such symbols are very widespread in human cultures and are found all the way from Celtic mythology to Buddhist art.

The Triskelion is the triple-triangle form of fate (or the fates). Three rings were supposed to invoke the three fates in several ancient traditions. So we see good followers of Messiah, in order to keep ourselves un-tainted from the world we need to study showing ourselves approved, and be wise in all things we take part in. Many of you will read this wisdom and shrug it off, but now since you gave been taught and do understand that idolatry exists in nearly everything, from abstract art to fashion trends, we must clean up our lives and acts, and have them resemble a more Yahwehli kind of vision. Yahweh hates Idols, and coveting such will definitely remain a block from His full blessings entering your life.

PILGRIMS PROGRESS VANITY FAIR

This is an excerpt from Bunyan’s “Pilgrims progress” and it represents vanity fair. This fair is the culmination of all things anti-Messiah, and it actually represents all the things our world holds dear. I recommend the novel “Pilgrams Progress” for it is beneficial for every Christian to at least read once.

“Then I saw in my dreams, that, when they were out of the wilderness, they presently saw a town before them, and the name of that town is Vanity; and at the town there is a fair kept, called Vanity Fair. It is kept all the year long. It bears the name of Vanity Fair, because the town where it is kept is lighter that vanity, and also because all that is sold there, or that comes there, is vanity; as is the saying of the Wise, �All that cometh is vanity.�

This is no newly begun business, but a thing of ancient standing. I will show you the original of it.

Almost five thousand years ago, there were pilgrims walking to the Celestial city, as these as these two honest persons are; and Beelzebub, Apollyon, and Legion, with their companions seeing that the path of the pilgrims lay through this town of Vanity, set up a fair; a fair where they would see all sorts of vanity, and it should last all the year long. Therefore at this fair are all such things sold as houses, lands, trades, places, honors, preferments, titles, countries, kingdoms, lusts, pleasures, and delights of all sorts, as wives, husbands, children, masters, servants, lives, blood, bodies, souls, silver, gold, pearls, precious stones, and what not.

At this fair there are at all times to be seen jugglings, cheats, games, plays, fools, apes, knaves, and rogues, and that of every kind.

Also, there are several rows and streets under their proper names, where such and such wares are sold, such as Britain Row, the French Row, the Italian row, the Spanish Row, the German Row, where several sorts of vanities are to be sold. Also the wares of Rome are greatly promoted in this fair.”

Many believe that understanding the existence of evil is a key part to gaining salvation. In order to follow the straight path to Yahweh’s kingdom, action, obedience, and the rejecting of said evils must be applied with the proper knowledge and understanding. We live in a culture that’s dominated by lust, and this lust has been the glue tying everything together since our Messiahs days. The Apostle John explained this lust and said it was contained in three forms, “the lust of the body, the lust of eyes and the pride of life”(1joh 2:16). Such sentiments motivate the masses to act, think, and do. We as Christians need to quench this evil spirit (or character of dysfunction), and be filled with Yahweh’s Holy character/spirit instead.

Intro

We are all born into a culture containing and ideology and worldview. Our cultures modern foundation is anti-Christ in nature; we’re speaking of the secular, non-Christian, humanistic world system that’s thriving uncontrolled today. Since we are all conditioned from birth to accept these ways as norms; we’re deceived into believing popularity equates to acceptability, and are lead down paths of sinfulness which result in our sorrows. Sin ends in death, and produces daily misfortunes. Such deceptions allow both the average person, and the world itself, to descend into a rotten pool of spiritual decay and confusion. This is what the powers want. The Christian worldview once permeated the predominant culture (and has off and on for many centuries) but is now only exiting as a shadow of what it once was. Carnality along with its multifarious nuances have  fought for the top positions of influence and power and gained it. The desire to have dysfunction reigning has also found its fulfillment many times throughout history. One example can be seen through secular men gained astounding wealth then reigned as pope(s) of the Catholic church. These secular men substantiated pagan practices, and made them culturally acceptable to a vast majority (ie, Medici pope, and the Renaissance). This isn’t to say that the pope is truly Christian, or  even an authentic pontiff of any scripturally derived Assembly (church), but it is to show that there is a depth persistent in corruptions ways. Christians of the past who followed the path towards Heaven, trusting in, and singing the praises of our Yahshua Messiah (Jesus the Messiah), have always been wiped out one by one, until only a small remnant remained, and this has always been the case. Historically, with the destruction of such true Christians, the Christian ideology had become marginalized, then changed into a sub-culture. True Christianity was completely eclipsed by the number of adherents to the popularized-dysfunctional norm, which usually was a mix of Christianity and paganism, or complete paganism itself. Paganism always took over when true Christians failed to perform (on mass). It also always reigns until Yahweh intervenes.

Social Degeneration

Social degeneration has been the tactic used throughout all generations to subvert and control whole peoples without riotous wars breaking forth. This is a natural truth if we look at it with unbiased eyes. Our modern culture is becoming physically anti-social, technology and current trends have produced people who are now inherently more self-centred. The trend of trumpeting the importance of “ones feelings” over the benefit of the whole, is just one example of such degeneration taking root.  The evils in charge of politics to policy, have their hand in the shaping and moulding of what we currently absorb as “futuristic advancements” and they have fully understood what will happen when people no longer care about proper sentiments beneficial towards the whole. These same advancements produce a society that becomes reliant on others, in this case “corporations”, and this is in order for them (the people) to maintain their own personal sense of comfort. One may argue we rely on corporations for food, yes but we can also grow our own, we can’t make our own cellular towers, usually. In other words, people are turning towards anti-social means in order to become more social, and this is ultimately destroying the normal societal functions of personal interrelation, thus the production of unwanted side effects that weaken cultural unity are beginning to immerge. I’m not saying technology is wrong, but the thing we must realize is that the new generation of teens, who have not necessarily understood the importance of direct relationships apart from those gained through technological  means, will be entirely incapable of performing naturally without their “mechanisms of control”, which allow them to relate in the ways they know typical How easy would it be to brain wash a culture that’s already entirely dependent upon technological to naturally perform? I would say extremely so. The abuse of technology is only one type of encroaching social degeneracy. The most important of these elements will be discussed herein.

What is Social Degeneracy?

“Social degeneration is the breaking up of the coordination existing between the various social elements, individuals, and the subgroups which cooperate in the social process … [By] the growth of so many antisocial elements … social unity is destroyed. This comes about by the growth of degeneracy among the individuals who make up society. Therefore, individual degeneracy has a direct bearing upon social degeneration, for degenerate individuals are either unsocial, or antisocial and are unable to cooperate in the aims and purposes of society.

Social degeneration, then, arises from the decline of the individual who fails to perform his part in the social activity. This causes a breakdown in the social mechanism and a decline in social activity. So long as each individual may be replaced by another as he fails or declines, society may be perpetuated, if not destroyed by outside influences. Just as a diseased member of the body may eventually destroy the individual, so a diseased part of society may be the cause of the destruction of the whole body. Social degeneration, then, is an evidence of social disease.”

So it’s fare to say that a society will continue to function as long as its new generation is able to replace the dysfunctional elements that have caused its predecessors to fail in the first place. Therefore, when a new generation is brainwashed into believing morality is relative, that truth is subjective, and personal feelings are the pinnacle of virtuosity; this being coupled with degenerate role models, a reliance upon control media, and a need for technology to live, won’t we be left with a setting procreative of failure…Or even better, since people are just chance slime on an evolutionary journey, the dignity of our spiritual heritage must become nothing, and from this men will thus be subject to chosen a-moral rule. Human based righteousness will also reign as King, and dysfunction will blemish the face of countries. Isn’t this our norm?

How did this happen?: A short history lesson

Our modern culture is an eclectic mash-up of nearly every ancient way that has existed before us. And today, when it comes to spirituality, the modern “man” drinks down a mixture of buddhist, chinese, and hindu, yogic, feng shui-ic, meditative  life philosophy; which is then combined with a tad of watered down Christianity, with its moral traditions, and then these are placed beside a mother-earth goddess, new age psedu “white” magic: which then creates a spiritually adulterous mulligan stew. With the combination of these elements, its by-product is labelled artsy, trendy, and or for the people who love the world! But this heinous Babylonian concoction has been one of the greatest traumas to ever hit our modern age. People who would call themselves "good", can be caught saying to a "preaching" Christian, “don’t shove your religion down my throat.” But moments later, blind and hypocritical, that same person would actively accept an invitation to hot yoga, buy clandestinely occult Indian incense’s, or drink down green teas “blessed” by shamans, and all this without a single question or complaint – These things and more are all evidences that “our” love for liberty and goodness, is only as strong as “our” relative ability to commit spiritual Adultery. Fornicating with every idol crafted by the imagination of man is what "good" people seem to do best these days. The acceptance of everything apart from the only-Holy-and true Yahweh, and His only begotten son Yahshua Messiah, has found its popularity from the foundations forged through the period called the Florentine Renaissance.

While the Greek gods and goddesses had never been entirely eclipsed during the "Dark Ages, " with the Renaissance their presence once again became a powerful force in almost every aspect of life and culture.

the European imagination was seduced by the pagan gods, The people of wealth and leisure — including those associated with the Catholic Church — began to decorate their villas and palaces with images of deities. Stories were written about them, and even music was produce in dramatic pageants about these make believe gods.

Although it eventually spread throughout Italy, the Early Renaissance was centred on Florence and patronized by the Florentine Medici family. Towards the end of the century, the movement reached its high point during the period traditionally known as the High Renaissance (c.1490-1530)

A Return to Pagan idol worship through art

with contemporary Catholic beliefs, and the depiction of classical mythology provided a more ambitious vehicle for the artist than purely devotional subjects. For reasons unclear, there arose in Florence a new desire to cast off the old ways of thinking – in philosophy, religion and art – and begin anew. The model chosen by Florentine artists and intellectuals for this ‘new approach’ was that of Classical Antiquity. Why? Because they believed that Greek and Roman art constituted an absolute standard of artistic worth.  Humanism was a focusing on of men as Centre of the Universe.

Humanism was a way of thinking which attached more importance to Man and less importance to God. This is why His veneration through manmade images is wrong. We’re given His Word, as well as all of the Creation, (which His hands have made), to understand His strength and character. So when we equal a man made image created of pigments and inks than call this a likeness of Christ, we’re likening that Eternal God to base material, and inaccurate ideas of men. This is idolatry and sin.

When the Samaritan women at the well asked Messiah about worship, He let her know that she knew not what she worshipped. I propound the same to you.

Icons, statues, images, signs; all of these elements things are part of a grand collection of idols found in churches everywhere. Yes, we also have metaphysical idols also; things like t.v and a cigarette high, along with every other addictions drawing us away from Yahliness is Idolatry.

In this article we are going to talk about the nature of idolatry.

To understand why Jesus the Messiah could have never been depicted in any form apart from Himself

“Christ’s Divine Person is revealed only in One human body

Christians reason within themselves that since God became a man in the person of Christ, a picture of Jesus is but an image of an image.  Their rationalization is that the Incarnation is justification, if not authorization, for us to depict Christ in human form.  They argue further that no portrait can display a man’s soul, thus Christ’s body can be legitimately pictured distinct from His Divinity.  Poor deluded Christians, unwilling to severe the last vestiges of carnal thinking, averse to bringing “every thought to the obedience of Christ.”  Christ remains amongst humanity unique.  Attempts to represent this uniqueness in human form (an achievement that God alone could do in the Incarnation) destroy it.  The multiplicity of depictions with various facial features, hues and expressions, denies it.  A man has but one nature, and thus he can be legitimately portrayed with no offense to what he is, but not so Christ who is also Divine; and to make Him into an “image like unto corruptible man” is to transgress the Law and insult the Godhead.Those who saw Christ upon this earth, had before their eyes “God manifest in the flesh”.

What animistic artist or photographer could claim such for his effort?  What do we have then?  Is it not an attempt to create a likeness of the One of Whom we have no likeness?  This then is the very essence of idolatry – the false representation of God.  In the silence of our chambers we should reverently pray, “Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?”6, and lo, the answer thunders down through the ages, “I am God, and there is none like me…”7 The Person of Christ consists of two indivisible natures – the Human and the [Holy].  He who manifested in the flesh was really and truly God.8 And yet, it was real human flesh.  “For-as much as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same…”9 Pictures or movies of “Christ” are merely portraits of a human body.  It is totally impossible to show forth the divinity of Christ; this only His body in heaven can now do, “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”10

The fullness of the Godhead dwells in Christ, and not figuratively, for he is both God and man.  This “fullness” can never be found in types, figures, and likenesses of Him.  Any such attempt at replication is utter deceit.  Whenever a bodily form is artistically ascribed to Christ Jesus, it remains a gross lie.  This fact – that Christ Jesus is both God and man – is a great and central doctrine of Christian faith.  What Evangelicals fail to comprehend is that by so representing Christ, they are perjuring themselves before the All Holy God because all depictions of Him succeed in showing humanity bereft of divinity. “What profiteth the graven image…a teacher of lies, that the maker of his work trusteth therein, to make dumb idols?”11 The words of Scripture alone patently present the divinity of Christ.” (book is found in his article, p 2)

Isaac Newton’s Views on Idolatry

Sir Isaac Newton was one of the greatest minds on earth, and the reason he became so great was because he loved the Messiah and Yahweh with his whole heart. He seemed to be a 7th day Sabbath keeper, and he also recanted the idea of a trinity. He was correct on these theological assertions.

One thing that stands out about Newton is the way he treats the idea of devils and demons. His take on idolatry is very sobering, so this is what I’ll share:

Of Idolatry.

“Idolatry is a more dangerous crime because it is apt by the authority of Kings & under very specious pretenses to insinuate it self into mankind. Kings being apt to enjoyn the honour of their dead ancestors: & it seeming very plausible to honour the souls of Heroes & Saints & to beleive that they can heare us & help us & are mediators between God & man & reside & act principally in the temples & statues dedicated to their honour & memory? And yet this being against the principal part of religion is in scripture condemned & detested above all other crimes.

The sin consists first in omitting the service of the true God. For the more time & devotion one spends in the worship of false Gods the less he is able to spend in that of the true one: secondly in serving fals or feigned Gods, that is Ghosts or spirits of dead men or such like beings which you make your Gods by feigning that they can hear your prayers & do you good or hurt & praying to them for protection & blessings & trust in them for the same, & which are false Gods because they have not the powers which you ascribe to them & on which you trust. Whether you call them Dij or Divi Gods or Saints or by any other name is not material. If you ascribe such powers to them & put such trust in them as the heathens ascribed to & put in their Gods you make them such Gods as the Heathens worshipped & as are forbiden in the first commandment.

Saint Paul tells the Heathens that the Gods which they worshipped were not Gods. he does not <1v> mean that they were not infinite eternal omnipotent & omniscient beings (for the heathens did not take them to be such) but he means that they were not what the Heathens called Gods, they were not such Gods as the heathens took them to bee. that is intelligent spirits able to heare & see their worshippers & do them good or hurt. To place such powers in the souls of dead men is that doctrine of Devils or Demons condemned by the Apostle.

An Idol is nothing in the world, a vanity, a lye a fictitious power,

The Egyptians & other heathens who propagated Idolatry beleived the transmigration of souls & accordingly taught that the souls of men after death went into several subjects as into the Ox Apis & other sacred animals of Egypt, into the Sun Moon & Stars, into Images consecrated to them &c & on this opinion grounded their worship of those subjects. supposing that the starrs by these Intelligences were moved in their Orbs & understood & governed humane affairs & that statues by these spirits could hear & help us & sometimes move themselves & give oracles. And these are the Devils or Dæmons which Idolators worshipped Levit 7.7. Deut 32.17 2 Chron 11.15. Psal. 106.37. 1 Cor. 10.20. Rev. 9.20. & whose worship the Prophets upbraid with folly by representing that the Idols can neither hear nor se nor walk. that is that they are not animated by such souls as those by which men hear & see & walk, but are mere inanimate stocks & stones voyd of all life & power. [So covetous men by putting that trust in riches which they should put in God become a sort of Idolaters. And much more plainly is it idolatrous to trust in charmes ceremonies, dead bodies, consecrated substances & the like. All this is worshipping the creature instead of the creator.]

And thirdly the sin of Idolatry consists in making & worshipping the images of dead men or of other things in heaven above or in the earth beneath or in the waters below the earth that is of birds beasts or fishes (contrary to the second commandment) upon a supposition that by virtue of the souls of dead men or of the supreme God or any other Spirits or Demons good or bad inhabiting them or upon any other account they can hear & see their worshippers or do them good or hurt. To ascribe such powers to them is to feign them Gods (such Gods as the heathens worshipped) & to love or feare or trust in them or express such love feare or trust by prayers praises thanksgivings sacrifices adorations or any other outward action or service is the idolatry of the old heathens forbidden in the second commandment. Stocks & Stones have no such powers, they are not inhabited by the souls of dead men, eyes have they & see not ears have they & hear not. An Idol are is nothing in the world, They are vanities, lies, fictitious powers, & on this account they are called false Gods & derided as such by all the old Prophets.

And of the same kind of folly is it to place any trust in the bodies or bones of dead men or in things consecrated or other things without life or in any ceremonies or charmes: for even the trusting in riches is by the Apostle called Idolatry. We are therefore to acknowledge one God infinite eternal omnipresent, omniscient omnipotent , the creator of all things most wise, most just, most good most holy;, & to have no other Gods but him. We must love him feare him honour him trust in him pray to him give him thanks praise him hallow his name obey his commandments & set times apart for his service as we are directed in the third & fourth commandments. For this is the love of God that we keep his commandments & his commandments are not grievous 1 Iohn. 5.3 These things we must do not to any mediators between him & us but to him alone, that he may give his Angels charge over us who being our fellow servants are pleased with the worship which we give to their God.. And this is the first & principal part of religion, This always was & always will be the religion of all Gods people, from the beginning to the end of the world.”

Demons in the old testament

The Idea of demons or fallen spiritual entities didn’t exist in the Old testament Hebrew worldview.

“ Goats and Satyrs

In other places, other Hebrew terms are sometimes also translated as "demons." However, in every case, the context of the term is an attack upon the idolatrous practices of Baal worship, or a negative reference to Canaanite mythology. For example, in 2 Chronicles 11:15, an account of the pagan practices introduced by Jeroboam in the Northern Kingdom, the KJV translates "devils" for a different Hebrew term.

Here the Hebrew word translated "devils" in the KJV or "goat-demons" in the NRSV is שׂעיר (sa‘iyr). The most common meaning of the word שׂעיר (sa‘iyr) is "goat," specifically "he-goat" or buck (for example, Gen 37:1; Lev 4:24, etc.; 53 times in the MT). A feminine form of the word occurs twice to refer to "she-goat" (Lev 4:28, 5:6). The root of this word in Hebrew is the word שׂער (se‘ar), which means "hair," either of animals (Gen 25:25) or of persons (Ju 16:22). Another derived cognate of this word is the word שׂערה (se‘orah), which is usually translated "barley," that is, a hairy or bearded grain. The connotation of שׂעיר (sa‘iyr) is that of a "hairy" animal, which is appropriate since many goats in the Middle East are longhaired or Angora goats.

However, there are four occurrences in the Hebrew text where the term שׂעיר (sa‘iyr) takes on a slightly different shade of meaning (2 Chron 11:15, Lev 17:7, Isa 13:21, and 34:14) while at the same time retaining the basic meaning of "he-goat." Leviticus 17:7 reads:

Lev 17:7 . . . they may no longer offer their sacrifices for goat-demons, to whom they prostitute themselves . . ..

The context here is the regulation of the killing and eating of meat, specifically prohibiting the killing of animals in the open fields or even within the camp without subsuming the taking of life under the covenantal worship of God. Directly forbidden in verse seven is the offering of sacrifices to the "he-goats" instead of to Yahweh. It becomes clear, then, that the "he-goat" is not just an ordinary goat, but refers to something that is a false object of worship, especially with the term "prostitute" that is commonly used in the Old Testament to describe graphically the unfaithfulness of the people in worshipping pagan gods.

In 2 Chronicles 11:15,שׂעיר (sa‘iyr) is connected with "calves" and "high places" that are both associated with pagan Canaanite religious practices. “In summary, there is no Hebrew word that can be translated as "demons" to communicate what that word implies in English. There does lie behind the Old Testament conception a basic animistic and mythological world view with which the Israelites are in dialog. But they are using the terms and in dialog with such conceptions, not because they accept them or are dominated by them, but precisely to deny the validity of such mythological world views.  The biblical writers use the terms not to accept what they represent but precisely to reject it. It is clear that there was a popular belief among Israelites in such things as ghosts and the mythological creatures of Canaanite religion.  But the biblical tradition as it stands moves beyond such popular mythological conceptions to a vision of a Creator, a sovereign God who is in sole control of the world, and does not share that with anything or anyone.
